As of February 1, 2019, a scheduled software update on servers related to DNS query processing is planned.

In Ukraine, some websites may become unavailable as early as Friday, February 1. Even government resources may be "affected." This is reported on the official DNS flag day website.

The scheduled update of infrastructure and software on servers related to DNS query processing is planned for February 1 as part of DNS Flag Day.

The update was initiated by key DNS providers such as Google, Cisco, and CloudFlare. Their goal is to remove outdated equipment and technologies.

To ensure the update does not affect the availability and operation of the site, it must support EDNS. This can also be checked on the official DNS flag day website. If the site turns red, it will not work after the update; yellow means the latest DNS protocol standard is not supported, and green means the site is fine.

It is also reported that no more than 10% of servers without EDNS support remain, but the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine is at risk.
